Re-Elect William (Bill) Uphoff
Lomita City Council, District #2
November 2024

MY FOCUS

When elected to the City Council in 2020, I promised to be a voice for our residents on the Council to address our collective concerns: public safety, streets and infrastructure, water quality and systems, parks and recreation, and local development/businesses while maintaining city fiscal responsibility. If re-elected, I will continue to be a voice for our residents on the Council. While we have made great progress the past four years, we have many opportunities in front of us.
PRIORITIES & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

We have made progress in all focus areas during my term on the Council as reflected in a recent Community Satisfaction Survey. 87% view Lomita as a good or excellent place to live, 29% said the quality of life has become better in the last five years.
-
Public Safety – Crime and homeless counts are coming down, renewed focus on traffic and code enforcement.
-
Streets/Infrastructure – Major investments to improve our streets and roadways continually improving our Pavement Condition Index by more than 15 percent.
-
Water – Street projects with water main replacements to ensure efficient use of resources, reduce costs, and minimize disruption to residents. New state of the art filtration system at the Cypress Water Production Facility.
-
Parks and Recreation - Programs for youths to seniors with special events throughout the year such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Night at the Railroad Museum, Founders Day, Concerts in the Park, Halloween Carnival, and the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
-
Development/Businesses – Development that makes our community better – strengthens the local economy, provides affordable housing, builds, and supports a strong business community. Grocery Outlet, Target, and Cream Pan are businesses opened recently in Lomita. New mixed-use developments that create housing for our residents while balancing the needs of our small-town city.
