Background

Bill was elected to the Lomita City Council in November 2020 with a term expiring November 2024; Bill was appointed to the Parks & Recreation Commission in 2017 and served on the commission until the election in 2020.  He was selected by his colleagues on the City Council to serve as Mayor from December 2023 to November 2024.

Bill serves on the City Selection Committee, Airport Noise Ad Hoc Committee, CERT Subcommittee, Finance Committee, Legislative Committee, Water Committee, Cal Cities (formerly League of California Cities), West Basin Water Association, South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) and Los Angeles County Sanitation District #5.  He also serves on the California Contract Cities Legislative Committee, the League of California Communities Service Policy Committee, and the SBCCOG Board, Homeless Services Task and Transportation Committee.

Bill holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from San Diego State University and an Award in Accounting Certificate from UCLA.  Shortly after graduation from SDSU in 1982, he started a career in aerospace joining  Rockwell International in 1983.  He joined TRW in Redondo Beach in 1986 and continued with TRW/Northrop Grumman until his retirement in 2021 as an Operation's Manager.
